Hi,I just wanted to get the word out about an amazing event that my organization, Dwa Fanm, is putting on in conjunction with V-Day.
In March, Dwa Fanm will be a participant in the V-Day 2007 Worldwide Campaign. As part of this campaign we are staging the award-winning play, "The Vagina Monologues", at the Brooklyn Museum on March 17th. V-Day, founded by playwright and activist Eve Ensler, is a non-profit seeking to end violence against women worldwide. In an effort to spotlight women's issues in Haiti and its Diaspora, Ms. Ensler asked Dwa Fanm to help bring "The Vagina Monologues," to Haiti (April 3), as well as to New York City (March 17th), where there is a large Haitian immigrant population.

At the NYC event, we are thrilled to have secured the participation of Ms. Ensler, author Edwidge Danticat, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, and Manhattan Deputy Borough President Rosemonde Pierre-Louis at the event. The goal of this event is to raise money and awareness for Dwa Fanm and its mission to empower all women and girls with the freedom to define and control their own lives. In addition, 10% of all proceeds will go directly to grassroots women's organizations in Haiti with which we collaborate.

Thank you!!!

Jennifer
