The Peace Corps in Haiti was recently suspended due to safety concerns. Though the majority of this largely rural country remains calm, the situation in Port au Prince, where Peace Corps headquarters is based, has deteriorated. Peace Corps- Haiti has  been through trying times before, and I am confident that the program will return when the time is right. I invite the Peace Corps Volunteers who were recently evacuated to comment on the current situation in Haiti as well as what steps could be taken to stabilize Port au Prince. See full press release here.
