Haiti Seeks IDB Loan for Watershed Management

loanAccording to a recent article in the Caribbean Update, the Interim Government of Haiti has sought $28.5 million from the IADB for a National Watershed Management Program. The operation would provide income generation from sustainable agriculture, while promoting conservation of Haiti's declining natural resources.

The project would link multiple investors to stabilize and rehabilitate selected watersheds throughout Haiti with the means to augement agriculture income and to provide institutional support to implement a national watershed management strategy. The loan is currently in the "identification stage."
