About Haiti Innovation

Haiti Innovation is an all-volunteer, non profit consultancy. Created by former Peace Corps Volunteers, the Haiti Innovation team offers technical expertise and in depth knowledge of Haitian developmental challenges and solutions. It is a 501(c)3 registered organization. The opinions of its Board of Directors and the Advisory Committee do not reflect the official views of any U.S. Government agency, international, or non-governmental organization.

 

The HII Board of Directors

Bryan Schaaf, MA, MPH: Focused on public health promotion, capacity building, and fundraising, Bryan works on global health and humanitarian assistance issues with non-governmental, governmental, and international organizations. Bryan served in the Peace Corps in Thomonde, Haiti from 2000 - 2002.

Samira Sami: With years of experience in fundraising and grant writing, Samira works closely with university-based student groups and Rotary Clubs to coordinate international aid projects, largely in Haiti. She now studies maternal and child health and has been working with Project Medishare since 2005, focusing on community health programs.

Matt Marek: Based in Port au Prince, Matt is currently Head of Programs for the American Red Cross in Haiti. Matt's years of project management and country wide network allow him to execute successful development programs throughout the country. His social awareness and cultural competency have established him firmly as a leader in the development community in Haiti. Matt served in the Peace Corps in Jacmel, Haiti from 2000 - 2002.

 

 

The Advisory Committee

Rob Miller: Rob is our bridge from grassroots development programs to US government agencies and large, multilateral institutions in Washington, DC. He works closely with lawmakers and senior policymakers to bring about positive change that promotes Haiti's economic and social development. He served in the Peace Corps in Ouanaminthe, Haiti from 2003 - 2004.

Chris Schron, MBA: Chris's background in business administration brings technical solutions and sound managerial practices to grassroots development challenges, particularly microenterprise. His managerial experience in both the U.S. and Haiti brings proven leadership and foresight to our projects. Chris served in the Peace Corps in Mayisad, Haiti from 2001 - 2003.
